Introduction to Sri Ramana Maharshi
Third Thursday of each month

- For relative newcomers to Sri Ramana Maharshi, or for those who already know about his life and teaching but would like to reinforce/renew their inspiration through hearing details of how he lived.
- Schedule
- Slide presentation 30 minutes
- Q&A/discussion 30 minutes

Virtual satsang with the SF Bay Area Sri Ramana Maharshi community
Every Saturday evening
5:00pm – 7:00pm
(“satsang” means “spiritual meeting”)
- Meet at the Sonoma Center and participate via Zoom link with community members located in the entire Bay Area and beyond. Periodically these meetings will be hosted and broadcast from the Sonoma Center (the first is June 14, 2025).
- Includes singing, lecture, readings, meditation (timings vary)

In-person satsang at the Sonoma Center
Second Wednesday of each month
7:00pm – 8:30pm
- Meetings are onsite but Zoom link is also offered for visitors who cannot physically attend. Send request to peter.berking@gmail.com.
- Schedule:
- Singing 30 minutes
- Readings and/or video of talk by Sri Ramana expert 30 minutes
- Meditation 20 minutes
- Q&A 10 minutes

Open meditation hours
Every day
7:30am – 7:30pm
(except times when other programs are scheduled)
- The satsang hall is open for drop in, independent meditation or study
- Access to hall is via door code provided upon request

Sri Ramana Maharshi film night
First Wednesday of each month
7:00pm – 8:30pm
- Watch a video of a film related to the life and teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi
- Film will be different each month

Retreats
- The next retreat is TBD
- Immerse yourself in Sri Ramana Maharshi’s teachings with minimal distractions
- Weekend-long formal events held periodically (to be announced on this site)
- Contact us to arrange an ad hoc overnight retreat of up to 3 nights. Currently the center has 3 bedrooms available for 3 people or couples, plus a bunkhouse with separate quarters for men and women, housing a total of 7 people. More can be accommodated if needed.

Open house
First Sunday of each month
12:00pm – 2:00pm
- Get a tour of the Center.
- Meet and greet other Center visitors.
- Meet the founder and learn the history and mission of the Center.
- Snacks and beverages will be served. You are welcome to bring something to add to these.

Anytime the Center is open
- Visitors who wish to borrow a book about Sri Ramana Maharshi can check it out from the Center’s extensive in-house library

Introduction to Arunachala –
The holy mountain that was Sri Ramana’s guru
Third Wednesday of each month
7:00pm – 8:00pm
- Learn about the Arunachala mountain and its sacred connection to Sri Ramana. Sri Ramana ran away from home to it at age 16. He never traveled more than a mile from its base, and claimed he set foot on every square inch of it over his lifetime.

Bhajan singing night
4th Wednesday of each month
7:00pm – 8:00pm
- Call and response singing
- Lyrics are in Tamil and Sanskrit
- Hymn books with transliterations and translations are provided
